Busy, busy day today at Essington working mens club, and yesterday really as I spent all day prepping and blowing up balloons. Im sure it’s news to some folks, but these big shimmer wall displays take more than one day. So when people charge a reasonable amount for their work, don’t discount the amount going on behind the scenes, all the preparation work done before we arrive on the day.
Well today was no exception for this as it was a full days prepping before and half a day before that as the lovely Wendy booked me for quite a lot of things, including 24x table centrepieces, 12x helium & 12x white rose centrepieces, my sweet cart, having it’s very first outing, as well as a welcome sign with balloons, a luxury shimmer wall display with neon sign and light up numbers and a cake plinth.
So an early start at 9:00am – 11:00am to do the main shimmer wall display, and then back home for a few hours to do the helium balloons and straight back to the venue at 3pm to finish off the rest of the set up.
It was a surprise 40th birthday for Wendy’s daughter Donna, and I hope she loves what we’ve created. Wendy was very kind to allow me to get on with it, and I went for a different kind of look with the balloon display, a sort of sweeping, floaty type of balloon garland with black and rose gold balloons set against my new shiny rose gold shimmer wall.
It was my absolute pleasure today to do this for Wendy and hope everyone has a fabulous night and gets lots of pics.
